GUIDELINES
FOR THE ORDERLINESS OF SLEEPING QUARTERS
The following guidelines are not intended to make AWFR 2005
a “military-camp” as some might think.
No, it’s simply a matter of following a biblical injunction to “Let all
things be done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) It’s not just time, it’s beyond time for all
Christians, including younger Christians, to begin to show respect for others,
and that respect can begin to be shown in our camp’s living quarters. There is absolutely no excuse for adult
Christian counselors to live in or to permit the squalor created by some
youthful campers who have no standards for decency and respect. This Christian camp, among other things, is
dedicated to teaching decency and respect.
There is no better way to teach than by example, and then, enforcing the
following guidelines:
1. Each
camper is responsible for his/her own sleeping space.
2. Counselors
will oversee the orderliness of their own sleeping quarters.
3. There
is a place for everything, and everything should be in its place.
4. A
camper’s assigned bed should be neatly made by the camper every morning.
5. Camper’s
clothes should be neatly folded and stacked either in or on the owner’s
suitcase or baggage that they brought to camp.
6. Dirty,
soiled, and/or wet clothes need to be placed in a “dirty-clothes” bag. (Campers would benefit by bringing a large
plastic garbage bag to camp.
7. Towels
and washcloths should be neatly hung in the bathroom or in a place designated
by the counselor in each room.
8. Items
such as toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, brushes, shaving gear, soap, and cologne
should be kept in the camper’s possession and not left in the bathroom or
shower. These items will be placed in
“Lost and Found” by the Camp Marshall.
9. Shoes
and tennis shoes should be neatly lined-up under the bed.
10. One pair of socks is permitted in a pair of
shoes under the bed.
11. Suitcases and luggage should be stacked or
lined-up in the sleeping quarters as indicated by the adult room counselor.
12. Non-clothing items will be neatly lined-up
in the room as indicated by the adult room counselor.
Room counselors will be held responsible to enforce the
guidelines in the room to which they are assigned, and the Camp Marshall will
be responsible for conducting daily room inspections. Campers whose personal space is found out of compliance will be
required to return to their room to bring their space into compliance.
