DISCIPLINE EXPLAINED
Remember: want +
perception = behavior
Discipline begins and ends with teaching children to think
out the soundness of what they WANT, relative to how they presently perceive
what they are getting and to how they are attempting to accomplish their goal
as it relates to the rules and the standards of wherever they are and to the
rights of others.
1. The soundness
of what they want.
Soundness means “is what they WANT
consistent with the will of God for their life?
Soundness means “is what they WANT
permitted by God?
2. How they presently perceive what they are
getting.
Am I getting what I want?
Am I not getting what I want?
3. How
they are attempting to accomplish their goal.
How refers to the child’s behavior.
How refers to what the
child is doing to get what he wants.
4. Rules and standards of wherever they are.
Rules and standards means just
that—these are what you are supposed to do or are supposed to obey.
Wherever means home, school, work, camp, or wherever rules
and standards exist.
5. the rights
of others.
For example, the right to privacy,
the right to property, the right to speak.
