We may not live a shattered life for having been
raised in a home that administered physical or mental abuse, but we may be
shattered from from reacting to having been raised in an environment of
legalism.
Thought #4

Walking by means of the commandments minus walking by means of the Spirit does not constitute a spiritual walk. Not until the Christian believer learns to walk by means of the Spirit is he walking a spiritual walk. Today, the larger portion of the church does the best it can to walk in the commandments associated with the Christian way of life, but few ever learn to walk by means of the Spirit because they never get victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. Quenching the Spirit and grieving the Spirit are obstacles to walking by means of the Spirit.
Transgression occurs when the believer makes a decision to live outside the boundary of God's established circle in which the Christian is to live. To violates a commandment is to cross the boundary, hence, TRANS-gression.
Grieving the Spirit occurs when the Christian commits a personal sin.
Quenching the Spirit occurs when the Christian rejects the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
"Operation KRY": the principle of Know, Reckon, Yield as taught by the Apostle Paul in Romans 6:6, 11, 13.
Thought #5

Pain: By pain is meant the circumstances of life that bring pain and suffering; not limited to physical pain; can be mental pain, physical pain, and/or emotional pain.
Reaction: By reaction is meant a mental, verbal, or overt sinful action that opposes the application of truth that would result in realizing the sufficiency of God's grace for the circumstance.
Response: The application of doctrinal truth to the circumstance, the application being made through the function of "Operation KRY" that results in realizing the sufficiency of God's grace for the circumstance.
Christians
who REACT to pain, as in Diagram 1, never experience the sufficiency of God's
grace for whatever circumstance of life in which they find themselves.
Christians who RESPOND to pain, as in Diagram 2, experience the sufficiency of God's grace for whatever circumstance of life in which they find themselves.
2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected
in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power
of Christ may dwell in me."
