THOUGHT FOR THE MOMENT

Thought #1

Early this morning I was contemplating the following statement, when a thought came to me.  I ran to my computer before I forgot the seed of the thought generated by my contemplation, and have written my thought at the bottom of this page.  Here's what prompted my thought:

Former N.C. State Instructor: 'Exterminate White People'

POSTED: 8:11 am EDT October 24, 2005
North Carolina State University has distanced itself from comments made by an occasional instructor who recently said blacks must "exterminate white people off the face of the planet.''

Those of you who know me well, know that my following statement is NOTan indictment of a race of people.  It is an indictment of anyone, without regard to race, who falls into the following category:

"Unless man understands the big picture of life, namely, that human history is the rebuttal phase of the spiritual battle known as the angelic conflict, any truth that would explain the “why” of an historical event will be rationalized away resulting in a misinterpretation of that historical event with the further result that nothing in life will make any sense.  Man, then, will do the following:  he will attempt to control the circumstances of life for his own selfish benefit, or he will simply resolve himself to endure life until its presumed bitter end comes upon him, hoping for the best in the interim."

God help any of us who are not willing to come to a knowledge of the larger picture and why we as human beings were created in the first place.  Need help with this?  Contact me.

Resting in Him,

Dr. Jim

Thought #2

A spiritual man when speaking truths contained in God's Word are often viewed as opinions expressed among the opinions of others whose opinions are viewed as equally valid or even more valid than the truths spoken by the spiritual man.

Thought #3

Text Box: Transgression
Text Box: Walking by means of the Spirit occurs inside the circle and is achieved through the function of "Operation KRY."
We may not live a shattered life for having been raised in a home that administered physical or mental abuse, but we may be shattered from from reacting to having been raised in an environment of legalism.

Thought #4

The commandments associated with the Royal Family Honor Code form the boundary within which the Christian way of life is to be lived by following the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Text Box: Quenching the Spirit
Text Box: Grieving the Spirit

Walking by means of the commandments minus walking by means of the Spirit does not constitute a spiritual walk.  Not until the Christian believer learns to walk by means of the Spirit is he walking a spiritual walk.  Today, the larger portion of the church does the best it can to walk in the commandments associated with the Christian way of life, but few ever learn to walk by means of the Spirit because they never get victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.  Quenching the Spirit and grieving the Spirit are obstacles to walking by means of the Spirit.

Transgression occurs when the believer makes a decision to live outside the boundary of God's established  circle in which the Christian is to live.  To violates a commandment is to cross the boundary, hence, TRANS-gression.

Grieving the Spirit occurs when the Christian commits a personal sin.

Quenching the Spirit occurs when the Christian rejects the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

"Operation KRY":  the principle of Know, Reckon, Yield as taught by the Apostle Paul in Romans 6:6, 11, 13.

Thought #5

Given the principle of pain, most people will work up to pain in their life, but will not work through the pain.

                                                                      Diagram 1                                                                    Diagram 2

Text Box: Reaction

Pain:  By pain is meant the circumstances of life that bring pain and suffering; not limited to physical pain; can be mental pain, physical pain, and/or emotional pain.

Reaction:  By reaction is meant a mental, verbal, or overt sinful action that opposes the application of truth that would result in realizing the sufficiency of God's grace for the circumstance.

Response:  The application of doctrinal truth to the circumstance, the application being made through the function of "Operation KRY" that results in realizing the sufficiency of God's grace for the circumstance.

Text Box: Response
Christians who REACT to pain, as in Diagram 1, never experience the sufficiency of God's grace for whatever circumstance of life in which they find themselves.

Christians who RESPOND to pain, as in Diagram 2, experience the sufficiency of God's grace for whatever circumstance of life in which they find themselves.

2 Corinthians 12:9  "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected

in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power

of Christ may dwell in me."

Text Box: The circle's boundary line represents the boundary of the Christian walk--the do's and do not's of the Christian way of life.
