THE ROMAN ROAD TO SALVATION

Cross

The following verses are sufficient to lead anyone to a saving relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Failure to trust that He died for your sins, was buried, and raised from the dead results in an eternal separation from the eternal Godhead--God the Father Whose plan it is; God the Son Who executed the Father's plan; and God the Holy Spirit Who both reveals and restores to the Father's plan.

Salvation comes by faith alone in Christ alone.  He is the only door through which any person has ever been, is being, or ever will be saved.

Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone.

90%+ of Christians in the United States today do not accept the latter statement--salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone.  90%+ of Christianity in the United States believes in salvation by works.  This means that 90%+ of the Christians in the United States have perverted God's plan of salvation.  BY WORKS???  The Apostle Paul states in Ephesians 2:9-10

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, {it is} the gift of

God;  NOT AS A RESULT OF WORKS, so that no one may boast."

NONE of the following are included in the "how-to" become saved:  baptism, walking-the-aisle, raising your hand, receiving Jesus into your heart, praying the sinners prayer, speaking in tongues (all forms of tongues ceased in AD 70), joining the church, ceasing to sin, turning your back on sin, or jumping through any other psychological hoop designed by man.  Any of the preceding actions determine your salvation to be by works, not faith.

If not by works, then what??

"For by GRACE you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, {it is} the gift of

      God;"

GRACE is the name of God's plan for salvation.  Grace is defined as "God's provision," and His provision for salvation is "faith alone in Christ alone."

Aside from the WORKS-ORIENTED heresy, there is another danger, and that is to believe that if you are not living for Christ, you were never really saved to begin with.  This is equally heretical.  Failure to live for Christ after salvation determines loss of blessing-in-time and reward in eternity--NOT LOSS OF SALVATION.

There is not one verse of Scripture, accurately interpreted, that indicates that salvation has ever been linked to anything but man's simple faith in Jesus Christ; and there is not one verse of Scripture that indicates that you were not really saved if you fail to live for Christ after you trusted in Him.

(New American Standard Version)

3:10  as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; (This means that no matter how good you think you are, you are not good enough.)

3:11  THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;   (Human I.Q. is not enough; the lost man is not seeking God.)

3:23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  (The moment a person is born, God credits that person’s account with one sin; no human being is as good as God is good.)

6:23a  For the wages of sin is death, . . .  (Sin has a payday; it’s called spiritual death, and spiritual death separates the new born child from God at the moment of physical birth.)

5:8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  (God the Father didn’t wait for the human race to become good enough before He sent His Son to the cross; in fact, Christ died for the human race while they were yet sinners.)

6:23b  . . . but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.   (Get that!!  Eternal life is a free gift; it isn’t earned or deserved.)

10:9a  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, . . .   (Confession is a result of salvation, not the means of salvation—see verse 10.)

10:9b  . . . and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, . . . . (Believe!!  There it is.  The only means of salvation is to believe (trust) in Jesus Christ—He died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead.  Do you believe that?)

10:9c  . . . you will be saved;   (If you believe that Christ died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead, you will be saved the moment you believe.)

10:10  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  (Believing results in positional righteousness, and confession results in phase 2 deliverance, experiential sanctification.)

10:13  for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." (Those “who call upon the Lord” are already believers who “appeal to Him” regarding their circumstances of life, the result of which is the experiential sanctification of one who has already been justified.)
